A colour guide to the Vediraa atelier

How the Vediraa colours are named, and which families sit together: pearls and ivories, blues, greens, pinks, and deeps.

Vediraa names colours the way the cloth looks in daylight in Navi Mumbai, not as paint-chip codes. The same family often appears as a scrunchie and as a bow, so an outfit can repeat a colour without matching it exactly.

Ivories and pearls

White Signature Satin, Creamy Ivory organza, Lustrous Pearl solid satin, and White Petite Pearl. These are the pieces to wear with white shirts, jasmine, and wedding whites. Ivory organza is warmer than the white bow.

Blues

Sky blue, royal blue, powder blue, and teal show up in signature bows, petite pearls, solid satin, organza, glimmer, and the satin duos. Sky blue is the soft daytime blue. Royal blue is the one that holds a night photograph. Teal duos pair teal with royal or with sky, which is the easiest way to wear two blues at once.

Greens

Sage, olive, pale green, peacock glimmer, and emerald. Sage and olive sit close to khaki and gold jewellery. Peacock glimmer is the green to choose when the evening needs one bright note. Emerald solid satin is clearer and cooler.

Pinks and lilacs

Light pink, dark pink, blush, magenta, and lilac run through the bows and the satins. Lilac is the bridge between pink and purple. Bright magenta is the loudest satin in the catalogue. If you only buy one pink, light pink petite pearl is the smallest commitment.

Deeps

Elegant black, wine, warm brown, grey, and rusty peach. Black velvet is the grip scrunchie for thick hair and dark clothing. Wine, in Crowned in Velvet, is the deep red. Brown and teal, as a satin duo, is the unexpected pair: earth with a cold blue.

Colour on a screen is close, not exact. Satin shifts with the light. If a celebration depends on a match, order two neighbouring shades and keep the one that agrees with the outfit in daylight.
